COMMUNITY MINISTRY

December Ministry Notice For Caregivers & Grief Ministry Schedule

Did You Know

There are millions of caregivers in the United States, perhaps like you, who have no resource or are simply unable to get away from their day-in and day-out caring to be part of a support group. You do not have to walk this journey alone nor fall into spiritual isolation.
When you’re involved in caring for a loved one, it’s all too easy to forget how much you need support and spiritual nourishment to do the job well. Nourish for Caregivers, is a Christ-centered, Diocese-based support group for those juggling the challenges of caregiving while holding down the fort at work and at home. For those caring for a loved one at home to those professionals working at care centers or hospitals, all caregivers are WELCOME!
In response to the pandemic we have arranged the caregiver virtual gathering on zoom in the comfort of your home. Please call Queen of Heaven Cemetery at (925) 930-9322 and ask for: Monica Saylor or Donna Bradshaw for the next virtual gathering and zoom platform details.

continued... Grief Ministry

Under normal circumstances going through grief can be the most difficult and challenging thing a person can experience. The pandemic adds another layer to the grief journey. No one understands unless they have gone through this. Perhaps your loved one was in the hospital and you were not allowed to visit them. They were deprived of the love and support they needed. You may be angry about this. The virus restrictions have also dramatically changed access to memorial services in the form of funerals and wakes. These rituals address some of the most difficult parts of the grieving process for many who have lost loved ones.
CFCS Oakland has entered into a partnership with the Grief Ministry of the Oakland Diocese under the umbrella of Catholic Care Services. Sandy Heinisch, grief minister for Catholic Care will be offering virtual meetings of grief counseling. She has been a hospice nurse and most recently a grief counselor for 14 years. She welcomes all who grieve. The schedule for her meetings are listed below with LINK access.
